Ken Landon Buck has been doing provocative figure work for over twenty years.  As a child he watched the movie " The Agony and the Ecstasy, " and was so inspired by the work of Michaelangelo, that he began copying his work in detail to understand how the master achieved the beauty of the human body. This started a lifetime love of the human figure which has never ended.

Because of the beauty and grace of his male figures, Ken has often been compared to his favorite modern figure painter, Paul Cadmus, whose work he deeply admires and respects. When Ken discovered Cadmus's work in the mid-eighties, he realized there is a place for the male figure in today's art world. This has paid off well, as he has won numerous awards both locally and nationally.  People have frequently looked at his work and asked how many years it took to get the effect of sensuality and realism Buck is so well known for producing.. and he just smiles...

Inspiration for Ken's paintings comes from a diverse group; lawyers, teachers, ballet dancers and frequently, best friends. His choice of media to express the form is also widely varied; watercolor, pastels, acrylics and gouaches.
